I have heard that front disk brakes were an option in 68 and that the stock calipers were 4 piston. Is this true? My 68 Elco, Malibu, Chevelle, Custom has what appear to be the sock rotors and calipers, on the driver side atleast. The passenger side looks like it has the stock calipers, but the rotor has been changed and is now shot. I can't find a rotor that will work- help!

I believe that is true. I would convert them too single piston disk. This is the easiest and most reliable way too do it.

Change over to the 69-72 single piston setup, it's much cheaper to repair than the 4 piston setup. You need new caliper brackets, calipers, backing plates, and rotors.
