I have a 1968 SS396, I'm going to get it painted but I dont know what the original paint scheme is for the SS's. I was wondering if anyone knew if they came with stripes similar to the 1970's models. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Check your cowl tag under the drivers side of the hood. There should be a number for the paint scheme there.

no, it came with stripes that went across the header panel and down to the bottom body line of the fender and followed that line all the way to the back of the car.

Go into the Feature Page and as you scroll down you will find several 68 Chevelles to look at. Here is one on them: http://www.chevelles.com/feature/may2002.html
