Well now that i finally have a house with a garage and got internet hooked up @ the house, its time to start fixing up the car. I took some photos of my car in the areas that i need help in. If you need better photos i can try again when it is light out.

I installed these fenders on this car after i hit someone these fenders are totally straight both have some small dents where it looks like someone dinged some stuff. But i am having trouble getting them to line up so the hood shuts and so the doors line up. I am going to pick up some shims tomorrow, not sure where to go but the auto stores have to have them. Just give me some ideas of where you think i need to put some shims then i can start going from there. I spent nearly 8 hours getting the fenders the way they look now.
Also i do have new hood hinges which i believe is not helping with the hood problem.

Try a search for MartinSr's Basics of Basics.
There are way too many variables to just say "do this, shim that"
It's kind of a science to get the panels to line up correctly. I wil say this....start with the Door to Quarter panel gap/fit, and move forward from there. Not all panels are going to fit the same. You might find it necessary to raise the door a little bit to get the fender to line up right....or pull the door, and fender out to get the hood gap right...lots of trial and error.
Did you change out the radiator support? Or remove it for any reason? It is also adjustable side to side, and can also be shimed up...
Side to side movement of the core support can change how square the hood sits in the hole, or it can change the fender to door gap.
Good luck! graemlins/beers.gif

Make sure when you took off the fenders the radiator support did not move. This happen on my 71 and I couldnt line anything up! Check down by where the bushings are ,etc.

I did remove the core support and replaced it with another. Mine was smashed from the acident so i replaced it. @ the time i did not have the body bushings so i just used the best of the 4 that i had. I picked up some new ones since then and place to replace those.
Where are the adjustments for the core support? I can bet that is the problem with the adjustments. Any pics would be great. THANKS!!

The support is held to the car by a L-shaped bracket with 3 bolts going into the supprot. Theres some adjustment on those 3 bolts.
Also the bracket is bolted to the frame, some adjustment on that bolt as well.
You should have everything somewhat loose on the "front clip" so you can make adjustments as you hung the parts. Meaning dont have that support fully tighten down when installing the fenders. get everything to fit first then start tighten bolts.
Also before you install the hood take some X measurements to see if the opening is square before you install the hood. If not square the hood wont fit and getting the proper fitment with the hood installed will be harder.
The X measure would be measuring locations(bolts) that are in the same location on left and right sides. So take a bolt back on the cowl of the car that is in the same place right and left. Then from that bolt measure another bolt on the core support but from the other side, thus giving you the X. if the two measurements dont equal the same you are out of square
