where the best (quickest) way to get a wiring diagram for a 66 chevelle malibu?

Could you share the wealth? I have a 66 Special that has a '74 Chev 350 w/HEI in it.
Obviously the owner before me was an "electrical genius". I started removing the electrical tape that was wound around everything under the hood and was not thrilled to say the least! I was trying to figure out why the car would run with the key off. The previous owner had installed a switch under the dash that has to be thrown to start the car otherwise it will just crank with no spark. After starting the car you can remove the key from the ignition and the car will run until you flip his added switch.

I'm starting to understand from some of what I've read, the ballast wire must still be hooked up with the HEI installed. There are two red wires that tie into the red alternator wire and then head back to the firewall. There is a blue and a green wire that are connected together and wound around the tranny dipstick tube several times for no apparent reason. grrrrrrr...

Can I get a wiring diagram with color codes from someone? I think he has way to many things tied together. Don't I just need a positive from the fuse panel to the batt on the HEI from a post that's hot in the run position?
