What are the best quarters/doors/fenders sheet metal out there for a perfect resto if you can't find GM stuff.

I just bought partail quarters from goodmark, and I am very happy with them.I also just got a 69 cowl hood from them and it is mad real good also.I would deffeintly go with goodmark, not just because I am a dealer but I have seen seat metal from a couple different company's and I wasnt pleased at all.If you wait till the first of the year goodmark will have the full 69 quarters. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thats what they told me a week ago when I called them and asked about 69 quarters,so If its a lie they told it.I know they said it will be a year before they have 69 fenders, and december before the inner fenders are back in,and god knows when about the fender braces so you might be right. The reason I called and asked was a customer of mine wants a set and if I thought about selling my partials and getting the full ones but decided against it since my car is on the way to the painter, hopefully. It was suppose to have went the 17th but now its dec.1st so who knows when that will be.

I hear that 69 door shells are being reproduced by them as well but are not done yet. If they fit and look good I will buying 2 for my other Chevelle since it has rust holes on the inside and the outside. The 70-72 doors are supposed to be getting remade too but those don't rust out as bad as the 69's so I don't think they will sell too many of them.

Yes Good mark is great but don't hold your breathe for the 69 quarters to be available in Jan. They told a month for a set of trunk gutter replacements back in May, then they said October, now early spring... retooling must be a process of godly proportions. I'll wait though, its scary how tight fitting it is.

I used a 69 door skin from Goodmark about 6 months ago, bought it at Resto World (937) 236-5233. It was excellent but I don't think they are available for the 68 yet.

I also used a Goodmark full 1/4 on a 72 that was very good and would recommend that to anyone. Unfortunately I went with partial 1/4's on the 69 and was not happy at all with them. They created a ton of work. Next time around I will try to use the full 1/4's if parts and funds are available - I think you will always get a better result. Certainly you have fewer visible seams, that can't be argued.

I was at Resto World this morning and I think he said they had the 69 full quarters. I saw the newest 66-67 full quarters from Goodmark and they look very nice.

Eduardo, why aren't you in the Tri-State Chevelle club?

I heard Rostoration World remodeled. I am going up there this weekend to pick up a pan I ordered. Have to check the place out. I will take a club flyer if I remember to make sure they have some to pass out.

Gary Harmon would know if the new quarters are out or not. If they don't come out I might be buying those 80% skins Gary says are pretty good. Much cheaper too.

Go get him Larry smile.gif

what is it about Goodmark's process that makes them so much better than others? is it not straightforward to produce a copy of what GM made for panels? or are other companies just lazy and don't put in the effort to match curvatures, lines, and dimensions of the factory panels.

As I understand it, Goodmark bought many ....not all ...but many of GM's old molds for making these parts. Not every part is from an original GM mold. I think they made new molds from the old ones.

The thing that pisses me off about them though, is that they shipped all the damn molds off to Taiwan to have the sheet metal parts be made there !!! :(

I know.... I know ...if they were made here they'd be more expensive....
