I have my 66 stripped and primed. One body man wants to paint all the parts seperate.
Body, fenders, hood, doors and so on. When bolt the car together.
Another bodyman says to jam paint all the parts. Bolt everything together and paint the car. What works best????

If your a real detail freak you would paint seperate to eliminate overspray...............just have to be REAL careful assembling the car. I would not recommend this on a metalic color though. The metalic's should be painted with the panels in the correct place. I did a Camaro in metalic seperatly and when I put it together the metalics didn't match right and it looked like a big checker board. If you engine compartment is not perfect and your frame isn't detailed I would say paint it together.
Less chance of screwing up your new paint job.

Words of wisdom from 67shovel. I will be painting my 66 Elky with hood and fenders off, however, I have had my fenders and hood on and off so many times that I know how many shims, and where. That being said I will be willing to bet I may change my mind, paint with front sheetmetal off, assemble, reblock clear, foam tape all jambs, and respray. Call me crazy, Karl
