I have a 71 chevelle wagon, and want to upgrade to a 12 bolt posi rear. what year 12 bolts will fit without problems or modifications in my car? i know 68-72 will fit no problem, but will the earlier 60's year 12 bolt chevelle rearends also fit?

i have all the 12 bolt chevelle casting #'s so i can decifer rearends a little easier. i also recently found a 12 bolt rearend with casting # NF3896839 i cant figure out what vehicle it came from because it dosent match up with any of my chevelle casting #'s. hope somone can help!

The 65 to 67 12 bolts will work, also. They are just 1 inch narrower overall.
