i picked up an 85 monte the other day and am wanting to know if anyone here knows what it takes to put the SS nose on it. Is the front clip the same or are the fenders and hood different. I located an SS nose and I think it would help the appearance of this car a bunch if it isnt a real major undertaking to change them out. Thanks for any and all input.

it depends if it is an LS or SC, go to www.montecarloss.com (http://www.montecarloss.com) I am there as 86ttop, I have an 86 SS.

The LS is most like the SS with cutouts in the front fenders for the front marker lights, but with a flat grille, the SC with its smoother more aerodynamic looking front end, doesn't have these cutouts

In your case, it appears like the conversion would work, the hood is the same, you need the nose and all the pieces that go underneath it including the headlight parts and the rear deck lid spoiler if you decide to go that far. Look in the parts for sale forum at www.montecarloss.com (http://www.montecarloss.com) and see what you can find and on Ebay.
