My friend is restoring his 70 LS-6 car and is trying to attach the rear 1/4 glass molding to the 1/4 glass. Each tim the molding peels away when the front windows are dropped. What is the correct way to attach these and with what materials.

When installing mine , I used a thin rubber gasket material (black) that I folded over the window and carefully tapped the molding on. No adhesive, just pressure fit and then carefully trimed off the extra material with a razor blade.

Ditto to what RC 70 said.
I did not have new gasket material, so I used laquer thiner to degrease the rubber and window and then tapped it on.
