Me and my buddy were painting his hood today and when we opened the primer it had a sludge at the bottom so we spent a little while stirring it up with some mixing sticks and it seemed to be fine... but after putting on a few coats of primer my gun stopped spraying, and we come to find out my gun is all gunked up with this same sludge stuff. Does anyone think the primer is still good?

Or should i just take it to my paint store and have em shake it up for me?

Anyways the gun was a PITA to clean even with some powerful gun cleaner.....

Have the paint store shake it. Using strainers will help prevent clogged guns...among other things.

And we used a strainer too... weird...

Shake it up. Especially if it is a high solids primer. I had some evercoat finishsand I was goign to use and it was sitting for a while. It became like sludge on teh bottom. Had autobody supply place shake it up and it was good as new.
