Picked the tranny up today, wife says the way I was looking at it and taking pic's you'd think I brought home a new baby. I told her it's close to the same feeling. :D

Seb, Looks great but aren't those shifter linkage rods supposed to be zinc plated?

Mark,
I waited to long and the only guy I could find close to me to do Zinc and chrome plating gave me an 8 week time frame, which with recent experiences probably means 10-12. It was either leave as was or do something temporary for now so I'd have the car for the summer. I decided to leave the shifter as was and powdercoat the linkage with the casing. I will either redo the linkage this winter or wait til I treat the car to the frame off it deserves.

Seb, I was being sorta tongue-in-cheek. I'm at that same point on my tranny. I was just looking at the rods the other day and debating whether I wanted to get them plated. (You can still see some zinc plating on mine, by the way.) Most people don't bother with the zinc because it's too much hassle & expense for something most will never notice. Decisions, decisions...

Mark,
I didn't take it the wrong way, just responding thats all. I'm not thrilled with the linkage powdercoated, but it beats the rust look ;) . If you notice the plates the linkage connect to are a little different, I tried a powdercoat that was suppose to be similar to the color of a zinc plating and I thought the casing looked better so I opted to match the casing. Did you tell me in a previous thread once, that yours was a 3 speed car???I remember something was similar about our cars besides color, just not sure what it was.

Seb, Mine's a 4 speed, bench seat, marina blue/bright blue, 360hp, Fremont car. Not sure if any of those features match yours.
