My car is a 1968 Chevy Impala with a 307 and a powerglide. The problem is that the transmission is shifting into second VERY late. I tested the vacuum modulator by sucking on the line and have found it does not have a hole in it. The linkage appears to be connected and working properly. Do I need a new vacuum modulator? How do I change it? Do I need to adjust the linkage? How do I adjust it? If I disconnect the vacuum modulator line will I be able to shift form first to second by moving the shifter from L to D?
Your help would be greatly appreciated. :)
