: Quickshade tents at CB'06
Chief Apr 26th, 06, 12:25 PM Can we put up one of these at CB'06?
I did not see any in the pictures from past events..don't want to haul it there if I can't use it. The red tent not the tree...
BillsCamino Apr 26th, 06, 12:30 PM Along the tree line is OK...NOT on the show field, of course.
Jerry Briggs Apr 26th, 06, 12:55 PM We had 7 of them tied togather at the tree line to form a compound. Just don't put on the show field. Jb
Chief Apr 26th, 06, 12:56 PM So, I guess we park the car and set it up for the show and then set up along the tree line with the chairs, cooler and what-not, and the tent if we want.
The shows I have been to here in Michigan you set up behind your car, like in the picture, and then you were there to answer questions or take the compliments.

Thats the BEST WAY to do it  Too bad CB doesnt allow it
Ark68SS Apr 26th, 06, 1:58 PM The staff will show you where to park, it's done in rows by year and class. Then you can take all your stuff over to the trees & set up there. Here's a pic I took two years ago of the show field. There are 3 or 4 more rows of Chevelles on the other side of the big tent that you can't see.

CB does allow it, many of us set up small tables and chairs behind our cars, just like at 99% of the shows out there. The only thing not allowed is to set up a tent on the show field.
I sit behind my car and do the show thing, but when the sun really starts to beat down on me I head for the tree line (which borders the show field) thats were the tents and regional clubs have it all set up.
I do agree with not allowing tents on the show field. Could you imagine if a gust got hold of a tent and sent it flying into someones Chevelle. Heck if it hit mine you probably wouldn't notice, but there are some real nice cars and that would be a trajedy and probably a brawl.
Chief Apr 26th, 06, 2:06 PM I think I am goin got start lookin gfor those "clamp-on" umbrellas to attach to the chair...I like to sit with my car when the crowd comes through.
One of the best things about CB to me is that it seems 95% of the crowd is the other participants.
I spend very little time at my elky except for the initial set-up and spit shine. Too many friends to see, vendor tents to visit to find that part you've been needing, swap meet area to poke around in, seminars to sit in on, nice cars to steal ideas from, etc, etc.
Dang.....I'm ready to go right now!

You're exactly right and Chuck doesn't allow tents or umbrellas on the showfield for that reason. I've seen in person what happens when wind gets ahold of an E-Z Up on a showfield (local show) and it was scary. Luckily in that case damage to a car was minor but what damage is MINOR to a car on the show field?

Not me. I learned many years ago to stick to beer.;)
Jerry Briggs May 3rd, 06, 10:46 AM Sgtpop, thats good news, maybe we won't have to put up the tents for the rain this year. See you Friday at Peach State Show. Jb
BB_Mike May 3rd, 06, 8:17 PM mason jars.
nice. ;)
BillsCamino May 3rd, 06, 8:45 PM mason jars.
nice. ;)
I think at CB will have to call them Mason-Dixon jars. :)
DZAUTO May 4th, 06, 12:15 AM Pop-up tents are only allowed over in the tree area-------------and I'm in full agreement with that!
I'll be getting things organized and loading up the "new" trailer with all of our "sturr", including the grill for burgers and dogs. I will probably cook Fri night after the country cruise is over--------------------if that suits everyone else.
Oh yes, the ice chest will be filled with help yourself suds.
