Is it just me or does this stuff spray really thick? I just sprayed my buddies top with some Etch and then the DPLF and it came out really thick and dry in some spots. I checked the gun and did as advised, 40-50 psi at the compressor and 8-10psi at the cap. Still no luck though. I had to up the psi to get it to come out decent.

Could it be from sitting on the shelf for over a year would cause it to thicken?

SS396Boy, I was having some difficulty with it as well. I reduced it with PPG's DTV reducer as they recommend for an option, and it seemed to spray a lot better. Before I reduced it, it didn't want to atomize well at all and would leave a rough finish when it dried. It seemed to be much smoother after reducing. Hope this helps.

What size tip were you using? If the product is coming out heavy and dry looking a too big of tip could be a problem. The bigger tip wont break up the paint into the proper sized molecules. I use a 1.4 Sata gun when spraying etch and expoy.

Reducing expoy with the DT reducer changes the expoy from a primer to a sealer and will change the properties of the expoy.

Was the hardener sitting that long too or was it fresh new stuff, as old hardener can do that? The expoy should be fine as long as the lid was tight and not stored in temps of around 55...Eric
