The hood on my '69 fits fine, but comes unlatched at highway speed (the safety catches it). This started happening after I put in new front springs a couple months ago, the front sits higher now and I wonder if more air is getting up under the hood. I have adjusted the latch pin lower. This makes the hood sink about 1/4 inch under the front bodywork. It stays latched now, but vibrates a lot at speed. I'd appreciate any ideas,

look at the condition of the parts. maybe they are really worn out and rounded off. if the catch is not gripping the hood pin fully, that could happen. maybe the spring is bad too?
