I am wanting to blast my '69 to the bare metal and give it a real good going through and repair, although I don't have tons of rust I just want to. Does anyone know of a good media to blast with? Is there any type of procedures to follow? Advice?

Primarily, the very best thing to do, if it's practical for your situation, is to have all your show panels plastic media blasted. I have a 69 SS and was quoted $90 for both sides of the hood alone.
Good luck.

They also make a plastic bead too, which is a little cheaper. Glass bead is the way to go though, but it is somewhat expensive. I have a small blast cabinet at home that I use glass bead in and it works great. Gotta be careful not to spill any on the floor because its just like walking on ice if you step on it.

Have you ever heard about Crushed Walnut Shells or Soda for blast? We have used these types of media on things at work that are soft or warp easily? Any problems with warping using glass beads?
