Just got back from the Carlisle show yesterday. I stumbled across an immaculate 66 malibu. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular but I always like walking the cars. I walked the whole field Thurs and saw nothing that even came close to turning me on. Friday morning we hit the flea market area early and were cutting across the car corral to get a funnel cake :) and my buddy says, Holy **** , look at that malibu. It had just arrived there that morning and people were crawling all over it. We joined the crowd crawling around and my friend says...this is a clean car....you gotta buy this one. I agreed. I have never bought a car at Carlisle before. That is quite an experience. My wife, who cares nothing about cars and thinks I already have way too many, gave me the cold shoulder on the phone that night when I confessed my sins. However, when I got home with it last night and she saw it, she says , wow that's a nice car. She has never said that about ANY of my others. I know, I know....I'll get pics as soon as it quits raining here in NY. Sorry for the long post, I am still pumped over it!!!

It looks like Artesian Turquoise. My 66 is that color originally. BTW, thanks for the pics. It has been awhile since I have seen one that color, and I am thinking about staying with that color.

350 ci with power glide. the seller knew very little about the drive train. I was looking for something with a good body because I have a 396 I want to put in it. I'll probably pull the drivetrain. I think I am going to leave it as is as far as SS cloning it. Originally I was looking for something to SS clone with the BBC but I think I like it just the way it is. Put the 396 in it and have a bit of a sleeper look to it.

did you look at the seller's 71 convert right next to it? That looked like a decent car also and was getting alot of attention but I didn't look at it too close.

My 66SS was that color but without the vynl top.
