Ive got a guy that wants to buy a 454 block I have. He wants to take it to a machine shop before completing the deal, to make sure its not cracked. I told him to pay for the block, and I'd let him take it to a machinist, he is willing to pay for the mag. and pressure test. if its good we're done, if not, then I give him his money back and I get the block back.
I figure just write down the numbers on the front pad of the block. maybe put a punch mark on the main caps, to make sure the same ones that left comes back with the block? How do you guys do such a deal. I don't want to sell the guy a hunk of trash. Jim

so you go get it tested and add it to what he pays.
he said he'll pay for it anyway..
that way it doesn't leave your hand till it's done..

I have to agree with Bowtie, you take it and pay to get it checked. Take it to the shop of his choice if he wants. That way you know what you are selling before finishing the deal. Add the checking to the price. That way you also dont have to worry about marking anything.
