I'm looking for a little help concerning installing an Air Ride system. For those that have it, what did you do about the suspension bushings? Rubber or urethane? And why?

Thanks

Jeff, I can't help with your question, but am leaning toward an air ride system too and would love as much info. as possible before I buy. If I had to make the decision on my own without any first hand experience from others I think I would go with the rubber bushings only because they isolate vibrations/road noise better and if a guy is going with air ride he probably isn't looking for a harsh ride. It's all a compromise. I'll keep an eye on your thread to see what other info. comes out. Max

Poly makes some sense for the front because poly bushings will rotate instead of load as the suspension is raised and lowered. They also work OK in the rear lower arms (not great but OK) but they don't work in the rear upper arms. For the rear upper arms use rubber or get sperical joints.

I use poly on my daily driver truck. I raise and lower it a lot and after 3 years the poly bushings are finally needing to be replaced.
