I give up! What is the secret to removing the serpentine pulley from the CS144 alternator?!?!

I use an electric impact. Hold the fan with a gloved hand and remove the nut with an impact, air or electric.

I got the nut off, but the pulley won't budge. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong?

Put the pulley in a vise and smack the shaft a couple times with a brass drift (or something that won't mushroom the threads of the shaft). Be careful; when the pulley breaks loose the alternator is going to fall.

Well, it eventually took a gear puller to remove the pulley. It was tight all the way too. I might have messed the threads up a little, but some time with a jeweler file should, hopefully, straighten them out. Thx for your help guys!

Wow, I've never seen a pulley on that tight. Obviously the last guy ran it down a little too much.

Yeah, that's what I figured too. Hope I can get these threads cleaned up, I'd hate to have done all of that work for nothing.
