I have the fuel tank and truck pan completely removed from my 70 SS and was looking for any advice the team might have as far as replacing it. There are 2 different models on e-bay. One is a foreign complete set (7 piece) for about 230.00 and the American made set is about 330.00. Has anyone used either of these sets? Is the American made set 100.00 better? (I’m all about buying American, but 100 bucks is 100 bucks)

I have an oxy / acetylene set and a 110 wire fed. Does anyone have a replacement recommendation method? Also looking for a good source for body mounts, a kit with all of them would be outstanding. Thanks for any advice

depends how much trunk you need to replace. The 7 piece kit to my knowledge is a one or two piece pan that doesnt extend very far up toward the axle. The one i got from national parts depot NPD exteded way up but i needed as much as i could get. its a 3 piece pan the right costs 97 dollars and i think the middle is about 40-50? Its the best for replacing alot of rust. The 7 piece is nice in that you get the fuel tank braces and braces for the trunk floor. The ones i got from NPD had the floor braces already welded on.

Let us know how bad the rust is.

see how far it goes up toward the rear seat? it goes up to the top of the other side lip too!

hope this helps some. This is my first time doing body work and i have learned ALOT, take your time and be very careful and make sure you find all the welds, etc.
