I know I have seen post before, but could not find. What is correct color for rear panel on '69 SS. Understand it is supposed to be black, but is it flat, low gloss or glossy? Thanks for help.

John, I would best describe it as low or semi gloss.

Go to a paint supply store, they an mix you the color with the correct amount of flat.
Or you can do as I did and buy a qt. of black and a qt. of flatting agent and mix your own with the ammount of flat you want.
I started with the formulas from the paint data sheet and changed as needed for differnt parts of the car.
Writing down the formulas for each part as I went so I can reproduce them later.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help. Just what I needed to know. I have glossy black acrylic enamel and also a flattening agent so guess I am ready to go. Just finished spraying the 69 SS with base coat, clear coat, code 57 (Dark Metallic Green) Have also sanded,buffed, and polished. Actually my son did all the painting, etc. Will get the rear panel completed and finish putting it back together...Thanks again.
