hey, does anybody have a torson unit in their car. My brother in law is biased and says torsons are junk, but i have no experience with them. Thanks,
Aaron

Torsen units were original equipment in the latest models of the Camaro and Firebird. I have one of these units in my Sonoma and like it. Global West sells them for racing purposes.

They are better than an Eaton for road racing or auto X because they operate smoother and don't upset the tires in a turn.

BGH,

But how much power can you put through one before you start shelling the "screw-gear" teeth??

They claim that they are as strong as an Eaton posi, but I can't say for sure.

Most guys with a 4th gen camaro have to replace their rear-end pretty soon after they get the car in the mid 12's.

Remember that the 3rd and 4th gen Camaro has the 7.5 10 bolt, which is just strong enough for the average V6.
