: No turn signals

I’m having trouble getting my turn signals to work. I have read through a bunch of posts on here and have tried the most common problems but still nothing. I have a 68 Chevelle SS. The lights (Head and Tail) work fine. Brake lights, marker lights, hazards (including directionals on dash) all work fine. For some reason the turn signals don’t work. When I turn the signal on I get nothing. No directional on the dash, nothing in the front or rear, no sound from the blinker can.

I have changed both blinker cans. (fuse panel and under dash) I have took the column apart and the blinker switch apart and cleaned all the connections. The switch seams to be working fine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don’t understand why the hazards work but the blinkers do not!!!

Thanks,
Marty

Marty,
Sorry I don't have an answer, but I have a similar problem(same symptoms).
Looking under the dash, there is a can on the passenger side of the column and one of the wires is a thick pink. I also found a thick pink near the column, but not coming down the column that has been cut and can't find the other side.

Thanks,
Ron

Marty, first use a test light to check that both wires are hot at the T/S flasher that's under the dash (not on the fuse box) with the flasher plugged in. If they are, then find the "U" shaped connector up the column that goes to the T/S switch. See if the wire coming from the flasher (I think it's pink) is also hot there. If all that's good, turn the ignition switch ON, but engine off, turn the switch like you're making a right turn. Probe the dark blue wires out of the connector with a test light, it should flash on & off. Do the same thing to the left and the light blue wires should flash. Don't forget to turn the key off when you're done. Let me know what you find.

Thanks Bill, Ill give it a try this afternoon. When you say the conector with the blue and LT blue do you mean the "U" shaped conector that comes out of the bottom of the column with like 7 or 8 wires in it?

Thanks,
Marty

Bill, well I feel like an idiot now. I was under the dash and was testing the test light to make sure it worked. I was testing it off the fuse panel. While under there I noticed a burnt fuse and wouldn’t you know it was the turn signal one. New fuse and everything works fine. I looked at them before but I guess I didn’t look close enough. At least I know how to take the column apart now!!!! Thanks for the help.
