I spent about 30 minutes on the phone last week with Tony Mamo at AFR about my desire to try a solid roller. As he was when I purchased the heads he was very helpful and great to talk to. My car is a Vette with the 502 at 10 to 1 with the AFR 315's, a Victor Jr. and Pro Systems 1000hp. Anyway I told Tony this was a 95 percent street car and I want it to run easily on pump gas.

Well I have to tell you his choice surprised me and took some convincing but here it is. 264 intake @.050, 268 exhaust. .714 and .710 lift on a 110 LSA and a 4 7 lobe swap. He also told me to mill .050 off the heads to get my compression up to 10.9 to 1. I have the motor out for other reasons so I figured now is the time to do this and have it dynoed. Would love to hear what you all have to think.

This combo with my previous cam, a solid flat tappet with 258 @ .050, .615 lift on a 108 LSA made 615 hp on an engine dyno with max horsepower at 6100 rpm. Tony thinks the roller will maybe more friendly although bigger than the old cam.

I have a 489 with Brodix RR Rect port heads, 10.3-1 pistons, brodix dual plane manifold, 1000HP Prosystems carb. I talked to Mike Lewis (Wolfplace) at great length and decided on an Isky solid roller 256/260 at .050, .680/.680 on a 110. From what I've read all over the place, big inch BBCs love a lot of duration and lift. I can't wait to fire it up! Getting closer. This is all going into a 68 Camaro that will be mostly street as well.
