I am in need of some expert advice on welding these in. These skins wrap over the top body line by about 3/4 of an inch and into the jamb about the same. What is the best procedure to follow. I would appreciate a detailed reply. Thanks in advance Chris

70isfine, a frequent poster on this site, has great digital pics of how he installed quarter skins on his chevelle. But when I went to access his old photos a few minutes ago, I could not access his file. Hopefully he will chime in, or you can email him directly. I followed his method as a complete novice, and I did a very nice job installing both skins on my 65. I will not go into detail on how I did mine, unless he is not available with his pics. I cut mine about 2 inches below the top of the quarter, and butt welded it to the new skin. Remove the old quarter where it wraps around the door frame and butt weld there also. Glue the new outerwheelhouse to the quarter using panel adhesive to get a perfect seal. His photos show it all nicely. Hopefully we can arouse him. Others on this site can describe this also, but pics are so helpful to us novices.

Sorry here is the new link. Yahoo seemed to move everything that was in 'Briefcase' to 'Photos' so it changed the URL.

The new Chevy Hi Performance has a whole article on installing 66-67 full quarters. Way too far beyond my abilities but, check it out. Seemed like a pretty thorough article.
