I have a 72 chevelle and I noticed when i turn the wheel i can use my horn, and when the car is going straight i cant. i heard you have to rip the steering column apart to get it done, is this true? everything else works in the car great. this stupid horn is bugging me

There is a ground wire in your rag joint that goes to the horn, your rag joint bolt goes through there. I would check the tightness and quality of your connection there.
