I have a 1971 350 bored 40 over, 9.5:1 compresion, edelbrok performer RPM intake, 650cfm Edelbrok carb, Mallory ignition, hooker comp headers. The trans is a TH350 with a street/strip shift kit, and a 2100 B&M holeshot stall, and a posi with 3.73 gears. The cam in it now is 260H Crane Energizer with 260 duration and .427 lift. I don't like it, because I can't hear it.

I'm looking for a rough idle cam with an impressive "lopey" sound, with low and mid-range torque. I've narrowed it down to three:

1. Comp Cam (Magnum) http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?lang=-1&catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=16055&searchItemId=29595
Operating Range: 2000-6000 RPM
Duration Advertised: 280° Intake / 280° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 230° Intake / 230° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.5 Rockers: .480'' Intake / .480'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 110°

2. Lunati Cam http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?lang=-1&catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=16019&searchItemId=29203
Adv. Duration: 285°/285°
Gross Lift: .455''/.455''
RPM Range: 2000-6000

3. Lunati (Voodoo) Cam http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?lang=-1&catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=27023&searchItemId=313043
Advertised Duration : 268° /276°
Duration @ .050 IN/EX : 227° /233°
Gross Valve lift IN/EX .489''/.504''
LSA and ICL 110/106
RPM Range: 1800-6200

Get the Lunati Voodoo 268. You WILL hear. I repeat WILL hear it. Makes my 350 with 3inch flowmasters sound like a big block.

Why not go with Edelbrock's Performer RPM cam kit that would match your intake rpm range. It's .488/.510 lift and a duration of 234/244 @ .050. Part # in summit is EDL-7102

Install the Voodoo 60103...not only will you hear it, you'll feel it! I've got the same one for a 383 project in the works right now. And I recently installed a 60104 in my bro-in-law's '69 Malibu. Runs mid 12s...Awesome!

You better look again I just got one not to long ago from summit #edl-7102.Put it in my '64 383 with rpm air gap and rpm heads with some other goodies.Very nice rumble but more important is how strong the car is.

GOOD LUCK!

I have the CC280H in my 406 and can hear it fine. In your 350 you'll hear it better. Now never heard the 268Voodoo, but looking at the specs it should do well.

I called Summit Friday, April, 14, 2006 to order the cam. The tech said, "Good choice, but we don't sell it anymore." So I went on Jegs.com this morning and it let me put it in the shopping cart. It didn't say if it was out of stock or not. Hopefully I'll get the cam next week. I'll let you know how it sounds in my 350 in May.
