hi all,
i did some research before i bothered you all, but i didn't find my answer. i have a restored rolling tach and want to hook it up to my HEI ignition and i am wondering if it will work. from my research it appears to depend on the brand of HEI. well, mine is new, i got it from the engine builder and it doesn't say anything on it, anywhere. it's a billet aluminum unit, red cap, there's a small circuit board inside, on the box it came in it says "chevy polished race HEI, distributor w/coil, red cap # MTR.9299R". my question is, is there just a certain brand or two that won't work with the tach or do i need to further research to find out who manufactured mine? or ??? will any ignitions damage the tach or is it just a matter of them not working properly?
thanks,
glenn
