Why not? I have always wondered what will happen. I found the turbo briggs video too. Hmmm, the grass isn't getting any shorter!:D

That was fun, the Briggs&Stratten is a tougher engine than most people would realize.

When I was a kid one of my buddies knew a fuel racer. So one day my friend got some nitro and proceeded to try it in a variety of small engines; a Honda 50, and a lawnmower. The mower went first, shot a nice blue flame out the exhaust. The Honda 50 basically wouldn't run on nitro. Fun stuff!

That's these guys local from where I'm at and members of this other local racing board... they couldn't get that damn thing to blow up.

Sounds like they didn't disconnect the governor. Get rid of it, it'll go soon enough. I played around with one once, disconnected the governor. Just regulate the throttle, no problems. Extra tall grass? Just kick it up a notch. Someone else tried cutting the grass one weekend (it was a place I worked), just full throttled it. They said it "was running real fast for about 5 minutes." :clonk: :D An autopsy showed a broken rod. :D
