Are all dip sticks for BBs the same? I was told I had the wrong one so I bought a new one from one of the resto stores and it was the same as the one I had. I am running a morroso 8 qrt pan but should that make a difference? Where should the oil level be in the pan?

Your dipstick should be okay with the Moroso pan. Add the amount of oil the pan is rated at and check your level. Sometimes it differs from the stick. Mine reads a quart low when full. I am running the Moroso 20403 pan on my Chevelle.

when you fill the engine and run to fill the filter, let it sit a few minutes for the oil to settle. then check level and mark the stick there if it differs from the factory marking. then watch that new mark periodically.

Do what the other post said. Then if it is to high, I took a tube cutter and cut off the amount to read full, No good if to low.
