I am reassembling my m-20 and was wondering if you use any type of sealer on the case gaskets?

I am reassembling my m-20 and was wondering if you use any type of sealer on the case gaskets?

I used a very-very thin coating of black sealent on both sides of the case gaskets when I rebuilt my M20. So thin that none of it squeezed out when I tightened the bolts.

Nothing is my choice the same thing GM used.
