Need tips on cleaning 30 years of water residue off the glass of my '72. Have tried very fine steel wool which helped some. Your experience is appreciated!

I haven't tried this product, but I've been told that Bar Keepers Friend works really well at removing the old spots.

i just took some foaming glass cleaner and a gasket scraper to get all the primer off the guy before sprayed on it as overspray, sure it will work for all your deposits.just make sure you use the scraper at the right angle so you dont dig down to deep into the glass, if left no scratch marks and the window looks like brand new.

Try newspaper, it's abrasive enough to remove grit but not enough to harm to glass.

I used paint prep solvent. But you need to be real careful to keep it away from the weatherstripping, paint, or glass adhesive.
