My question is has anyone bought a repo 70 front bumper from goodmark or anyother company like yearone or ground up and how about the ones that sell on ebay? Whats the fit and finish on those bumpers? I just got my rear bumper rechromed and very much happy with it, they straighted it and did a triple plate finish. But it cost me alittle over 350 bucks and dont really want to spend that on the front one too. But afaid of the finish difference between the two bumpers. Any help is much appreciated and thanks...Eric

I dont know about those in particular, just be careful and look at them before you buy. My Nova SS had a ground up restoration a few years ago and it still looks great except for the bumpers. They are getting tarnished and starting to flake arount the bolt heads.
This may not be the best place to try to save a few bucks.
Just my opinion.

I bought a set from my company for a 71-72 Chevelle. They look great and really sparkle. We haven't had any probles with them so far, nor do we anticipate any problems with Goodmark stuff.

I purchased a front bumper for my 71 from Ground Up and am very happy with it. Just as heavy as the original, real good shine to it. Highly recommend them. $209 for the front bumper.

The whole trick with any rechrome or repo bumper is not to over tighten the carriage bolts.Tamraz on E-Bay sell repo Chevelle bumpers for $179 I believe, and I've heard the quality is pretty good.

Thats right,i saw a guy use an impact gun to tighten the bolts on a freshly rechromed bumper($450!)It cracked the chrome around the bolt hole and the crack continued for about 6 inches.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Iam still not sure if having one repo bumper and the other being a rechromed original is the thing to do. I guess am just worried about the difference in the shine and luster of repo to the rechromed. Ive heard lots of good things about the repo bumpers and not afraid of putting one on the my car but would you guys just pay another 400 to get the front redone and have it look the same or pay the 200 and take the chance of it looking a little diferent?
