Just picked up a new set of 32 x 16 x 15S ET Drags and 15 x 15 Convo Pros for the 67 and my question is which pattern to use for the rim screw installation. I have seen the use of 8-16 screws per side and either all drilled straight or alternating straight and at a 45 degree angle (as per the MT instructions). Is there a real difference in patterns or is it preference.

I know that I want to use 16 screws per side but unsure of the pattern. What are your thoughts?

I use 8 per side approx. equal distance from each other. No big science here and then have combo balanced! I also run tubes. Tried without and kept having flats. Not worth the hassle-virtually no air loss at all now!

A lot of folks are not putting in rim screws. I've seen some fairly hi powered cars running without them. If you're not running tubes, I'd consider leaving them out.

BTW, that's one mean looking ride you got there!

Thanks for the compliments! I am running tubes in the tires and I am really leaning towards 16 per side, even if it may be overkill. On my Camaro, I drilled the wheels as instructed by MT. Every other screw went into the bead at a 45 degree angle. I have not seen too many drilled like that lately so I thought I would ask the experts!

16 screws per side IS overkill...8 per side is plenty...zero per side is probably sufficient.

How does she run? I saw drag radial cars that turned the tire half way around the rim this weekend 4-6" at a time. I, for one, will never use rim screws again, ruins wheels and its a pain keeping air in the tires.

Get a template to be sure they are spaced correctly. Summit has them.

8 screws per side is sufficient, anything more is just a waste of effort in my opinion. Just put them in straight.
Goodyear recommends coating the insides of tubeless slicks with liquid dish soap. According to them, there will be no leaks if this is done.

Thanks for the comments. I do have a template to ensure even spacing and I will more likely just drill them straight as suggested.
