I have a bit of a problem, I want to replace the roof rail weatherstripping on my 71 Malibu and also need to replace the chrome channel that it attaches to. I have searched high and low for repro or nos parts, but to no avail. Does anyone know where I can find these, preferably new. All of the cars around New Orleans are rusted and not worth salvaging. Thanks for any help.

The part that holds the roofrail weather strip, is stainless steel. These parts shouldn't be rusty, even if the rest of the parts car is...

I don't think they make them in repro. I searched all the major suppliers like Year One, OPG, NPD and so on and they do not have them. I was lucky enough to find a parts car that still had them on and that is how I got mine. Probally your best bet would be looking in slavage yards or parts cars.

just a thought......they should be stainless steel. Maybe try going to eastwoods website and getting some buffing wheels and some rouge for stainless steel. You would be amazed how well stainless can be restored when buffed.
