Over 6 days and 15 hours to go and already at $149,600!! :beers: Oh and hasn't met reserve yet.

What's your opinion. I'm a 66/67 person and know very little about 1970's and LS6.

He say's, "contact the guy who restored the car" when asked if he has any documentation. Personally, I'm not taking that as a good sign.:( "Oh hell yeah, it's real, I could tell that when I took it apart."

Axe: That used to be a nice car before the whole "lowrider" thing got a hold of it. Got AC too.

From what I have information on, this is a put together car and not original. The VIN of 136670L101956 is for a 1970 Chevelle Convertible built before the end of September 1969. The block casting date of L-19-9 is December 19, 1969, about 3 months after the body was built. The block stamping of: TO328CRV, is for March 28, 1970, now 6 months after the car was built. How can it have the early VIN on a such a late engine and be an original engine?

One more thing, the earliest known (documented), LS6 70 Chevelle was built in early December. The chances of this car being a real LS6 are slim to none.

Regardless of its originality (or not), I can't get interested because it doesn't have air cond!

Is this a different one than the Fathom Blue LS6 'vert that sold on B.J. for 180k a few years ago?

I think that was a legit car with paperwork, but this looks identical... must be a different car.

I still to this day don't understand why these cars cost so much to buy? I mean damn, a person can build that whole car right from the catalogs available online...one being our sponsor. I guess MONEY TALKS.

Nice convert but I'm not sold on it being a LS-6 car..many issues under the hood aare incorrect..smog, TCS, mastercylinder, wrong shifter and then there are the VIN number isuues as stated earlier in this thread....proceed with caution!.

Regardless of whether or not it is an original, I sure have to admit that is a great color combination. There used to be a 70 SS 454 convert like this a few blocks from my house when I was growing up. I always thought that was one of the coolest cars I had ever seen. Obviously I had great taste even as a young child!!!

Just to add something to this one. The sequence number on this car 101956, is less than my 70 which is 102249 and was built 08C, so I am guessing this cars build date is either 08B or 08C. 13667 is the correct VIN for this car. It means it is a 2 door Malibu V-8 convertible.

Why do you say that Tom?
13667 would also be the VIN for a 2 door SS V-8 convetible.

That's true Dean since the SS was an option on the Malibu. I was just responding to a previous post about the VIN.
