Hello all,

Have a 67 Chevelle SS that I am about to start work on. Will pull the body from the frame within the next month, and would like to fix a few areas while the body is on the rack. On this particular car, the drivers side inner sail has some rust from the vinyl top it once had. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions from those of you who may have had a smiliar repair. I'll also be replacing a portion of the trans hump near the forward part of the floor, and again would appreciate any ideas. Thankfully the car is in good shape everywhere else. Thirty six years of AZ life is the game saver in this case.

Thanks for your time!

You will probably have to fabricate the inner sail panel piece. I haven't seen it available aftermarket but it shouldn't be to tough for a capable body man.

I will be do the same Sail fabrication. What gage metal should be used in this.

Thanks,
Carl

Use the same as the original to replace it so your welding is easier. I don't know the gage though, I've always used a piece of scrap fender or door.

Just came across your post. I also have 67 SS and claim Fallbrook as my hometown. (FUHS class of 74) Next time I'm out there visiting my folks I might look you up. smile.gif
