I had a collision and subsequent repair of my driver side door and fender recently. The work was done by a quality restoration shop I trust and the door was replaced entirely.
Recently I noticed what I thought were window felt marks on the lower rear corner of my window. Well much to my horror when I ran my fingernail across them they are not just rub marks but scratches! These scratches do not travel all the way up the window and are concentrated only in the lower rear corner over the door handle. They are spread across 6 inches front to back and 4-5 inches top to bottom. They are also on the exterior surface of the window not the interior surface. What can be causing this? Is this a problem that has been seen before? Can these types of things be buffed or polished out or am I looking at buying another window once the problem is fixed?
I don't get any abnormal sounds or resistence when raising or lowering the window and it does not appear loss in the door in any way.
