Hi,
My Factory assembly instruction manual for '1970 Chevrolet "A" Series 3965176" has arrived. Yay :)
That is interesting reading but I have one question. On each page under "model" it sometimes says "Wagon" or "SS" or "Malibu" but sometimes it says "13000", "13857-67", "13636-46-13800" or similar. What does that mean and how do I find out what applies to me?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that those numbers are the first 5 digits of a VIN. Hopefully someone with an Assembly manual can confirm.

13000 means it would apply to ANY Chevelle (coupe/convertible/wagon/sedan/etc) since Chevelles are 13000 series from GM -- Pontiac is 23-24000 series, Olds are 33000, Buick is 33-34000.
13857-67 means it's applicable only to those models (857/867), the Monte Carlo in this case.
If you have a Malibu hardtop for example (13637), then anything that applies to 13000 (anything in the Chevelle lineup) or 13600 (anything in the Malibu lineup) would be of interest but something that applies to 13636-46 (Concours 4-door wagon) wouldn't because it's model (36/46) specific.
