I was thinking of taking my 70 Chevelle Malibu down to the Rhino lining shop and have the trunk sprayed to 1) cut down on noise and 2) cut down on chance of any rust ect. What does the wise and all knowing group think. They are willing to do it (plus a little over spray into the rear seat area for $200. Yes/No/Maybe??? Anyone had this done?

I have had pick up truck beds at work done and it worked great. But would you want to do it in a trunk. How bad off is it. I would think a good wire brushing prime and spray with Zolotone.

I’m in Omaha and I’m doing the website for Midwest linings http://www.midwestlinings.com In turn they’re doing some work for me. I just had my gas tank done and I love the way it turned out. I was considering the exact same thing you are for the exact same reasons. I’m in the process of welding the truck pans back in now. If I go ahead with it I’ll post here. http://members.cox.net/renslove70ss/trunk.htm

If your not worried about correctness go ahead. It's your car :D I just did the cargo floor in my wagon with the Eastwood Pro tek liner, it looks good. ;)

Just saw a Harley done in Rino Liner. graemlins/sad.gif The owner was so happy with it not showing all the rash and dumps when drunk. graemlins/clonk.gif

My dad just worked on a truck with that in it, looked great and was very durable. I'm gonna have my trunk done at some point, seems to be good stuff.

Seems like best solution would be to fix the leaks, then rust wont be a problem. Someone down the line, maybe years from now will buy that car or see it and say "Look what this guy did", kinda like the murals and fuzzy seats from the 70s.

Mine doesn't leak, but that stuff might help prevent dents just in case something comes up and some junk has to go back there in my daily driver...

You ever seen what happens when something rolls into the side of the trunk inside? Seems to dent a lot easier from in than out

Plus I think a coat of that then some of the new spray in dynomat stuff could help out my stereo a bit

And what are you talking about some guy down the road...I'm keepin my car :D

I was thinking of doing my whole underbody with rhinolining when i drop the tranny and gas tank. As for in the trunk, i dont think it would be as nice. You could rhinoline under the trunk and use a splatter paint and mat inside and get the same protection without the visible black lining.

I used it on my 67 Camaro. Did the trunk and the floors before the padding and carpet went in. I used the brush-in type that you can get in any auto parts store. Helps with the sound deadening and a a little trunk spatter paint makes it look like original.
