Just wondering if anyone knows out there where the best location is to mount the mufflers or drag muffler when your running a full exhaust with a 600hp engine is it towards the header or actually in stock location??(towards rearend) which makes the best flow

I am by far no expert, but I would think the stock location would be better if you are running the exhaust that far back due to the exhaust gas getting cooler as it moves further from the headers.

However, if this is a non-street car I would say run the muffs off the collectors and then run turnouts/turndowns out of the muffs. Shortest distance would seem to flow the best.

It is definately quieter if you mount the muffler as far aft as possible. We mounted the Burns 3 1/2" diameter mufflers directly behind the collectors, with no tail pipes, and it seemed to help the power a little but boy was it loud. The new Lemons headers have somewhere between 4"-5" collectors so required new mufflers again. I personally liked the Borla 3" mufflers the best but the new Lemon's Headers are works of art.
