relative question i know but i found a real 'U' code 72SS.
There is no forum here for WHATS IT WORTH so I'm trying here. If it offends anyone please have it moved elsewhere.
Basically an early 80's style resto with enamel paint. Has a NOM 71-72 402 that comes with it but it's in need of total rebuild(rusty)..comes with Muncie and still has 12 bolt, discs, sway bar, and boxed lowers.
make no mistake about what i say below. when this car is cleaned up it would make a very presentable car. I am not looking at the big picture of how much it needs but more so what would someone with bigeyes and wallet think its worth right now. any input you have is OK. you wont hurt my feelings. I have none left!!
UPPERS= Good colors originally, Flame orange, black top, black gut.VERY solid car needing no floor pan or trunk pan work at all, drop downs are good also.quarters appear to be solid where they meet the outer wheelhouses from inside the trunk area. Factory A/C car, A51 bucket seat code also. factory tach. Non functional cowl hood. original exhaust manifolds still there. no rust in sills. cowl hood. rechromed bumpers(kinda grainy though). all other trim in great shape like roof rail modings, vinyl top moldings, headlight bezels etc.
DOWNERS= Motor is out and it needs complete rebuild. the A/c box underhood has many holes in it where the valve covers banged it coming out.buckets were recovered NON original. Dash has enlarged radio hole and one aftermarket gauge installed.few headliner holes. mud in driver door evident into lower left fender. small bubbles on bottom corners of left door(skin time!), small bubbles in lower left quarter.paint is starting to craze up close on certain areas but still overall presentable.
I gotta be honest here , given the current sky-high prices of real cars and the fact that it is getting harder to find real cars , and the fact that i have not got the money or resources to properly restore this car. I am only thinking about this to turn it over and make some money to get my 71 Malibu redone. I want a pro-touring type Chevelle when i am done with 5 speed and i can't see chopping on a real car for this. Since the engine with the car is non original and it would cost big money to redo it I thought about dropping a complete good running 69 truck 396 I have in it to get it running, but that could create other $$ issues.
