I want to change my 65 from drum to disc. Is there a direct bolt on from a later model GM car? I am sure this has been talked about before, but I missed it. Thanks.

One thing you also need to get to make a conversion complete is a set of brake lines. I suggest contacting Right Stuff Detailing or Ground Up (a distributor of RS). They can send you a set of prebent lines, hoses and even a proportioning valve. If you need any info just contact me I've done a swap on a 65 and can even tell you what hoses you need for the front to keep the correct length and not have to change the factory brackets on the frame.

Hey Jax,
Don't forget to change the master cylinder to a disc/drum dual pot type, you'll also need a proportioning valve. If you're going to use a wrecking yard as a source for your parts suggest you buy the whole spindle & disc sub-assemblys from the same car. Then rebuild the calipers. Be sure you have the discs checked for out of round and proper minimum thickness. Did it earlier this year, if you need more details e-mail me. mgg

Hi Jax. If your going to a boneyard anyway, I would advise you to search for a combined metering/switch/proportional valve. In modern cars they are standard. I am almost sure these were used in 72 Chevelle and Monte Carlo. It'll help you save your discs.
