Hello all,
I've been running 2.5" pipes to the mufflers (40 series Flomaster) and 2.25" pipes from muffler to tips. I recently put new headers on so now my pipes don't indent in near the driveshaft like they're supposed to, and my mufflers dont' tuck up into the right place either. I plan to take it in soon to get new pipes, with all the right (stock) bends. Will I hear a big difference between 2.25" pipes and 2.5" pipes? How about back pressure? Which gives more torque at lower rpm's? I have a 330hp/350, believe it or not it's loud right now, but I like the sound. I would appreciate any info you could give.

Jimmy,

Run 3" pipe from the headers to the mufflers. Then run 2 1/2" tail pipes out the back. Cut the ends off the flowmasters on both sides. Open up the inlet of the muffler to 3" and the outlet to 2 1/2".

Flowmasters are cool because you can change the pipe inlt/outlet diameter by cutting the ends. Saves you from having to buy new muff's.

Good Luck :D

I did exactly what motorhead did, running 3" to the Flowmaster Delta 50's, and 2 and one half after the mufflers. I'm running Hedman Husler headers too. I've never had the stock exhaust on the car so I don't how to compare it to the system I have now. However, I love the sound and the performance.
