Ok, I'm stuck! How do you remover the trim panel in the rear of a 69 SS? I took off the armrest and window crank, pulled I think 4 pins but, the top is still firmly in place and I can find no pins or method used to hold it in place? Anyone able to clue me in?

Mike, youdidn't mention it, but I'll assume you've removed the rear seat cushion and Backrest. Check to see if there are any screws located in a place that the seat back or bottom would have hid. Roll the 1/4 glass all the way down to make it easier to push the top of the panel in (towards the glass) and up.
The very top of the panel does interlock with the top moulding so you may have to work it a little to pull the panel out
Hope this gets you unstuck,
Rich

Interior is gutted except forthe headliner and these last 2 panels. I have applied at least 30 pounds of force on the one side I am working on. I guess I will just use whatever it takes to remove one and buy a new one if it gets ruined! Heck, I even figured out how to take a window crank apart and I can't get a piece of trim out.... geeze! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/eek.gif

There is also a small screw on the top of the doorjamb that holds the upper part of the panel. Make sure that you have removed it. The panel comes out by pushing it in (with the window lowered) and up.

Finally.... Got it out! It seems that the screw's head had broken off some time in the past 30 years or so. The vinyl had slid back over the evidence. I finally found it today and drilled out the dang screw. It was a hardened screw and I broke two Titinium drillbits on the dang thing! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/mad.gif
