: So much for the moment of clarity...

So, 3 months ago I posted saying how I had this brilliant moment of clarity into getting what I wanted car wise, and bought an 89 Mustang GT Convertible so I would have a nice reliable fun car, and save my $$ for another muscle car project.

Well.... That didn't last too long. Weekend before last was really the first nice t-shirt weather type weekend we've had around here yet. Even though i was able to finnaly cruise around comfortably with the top down- all the cool muscle cars bombing around on the road did me in. That mustang was NOT a muscle car.

So- Sold the Mustang on saturday- Made a decent profit (gotta love buying convertibles in the rainy season to sell em in the summer) and now i'm back looking for another muscle car.

Current leading options are:
1968 El Camino SS (true 138 vin car) Non orig 454/ Orig TH400 & 12 bolt rear, brand new interior(buckets) in awesome shape, 0.0% rust, but crappy driveway paint job, needs exhaust, front suspension, detailing etc etc.

1968 Chevelle Malibu ??? been sitting in front of a house down the road from me for 10 years (says a neighbor who has lived here longer than me)

Really want another 69- But trying to figure out if i could "DEAL" with having a 68 instead.

I have about $13k to play with- having a hard time finding those decent "in between quality cars" seems like everything is either a project, or perfect- and the project cars are a lot more $$ than they used to be!

Anyway- Stay tuned...

02 ws6 muscle car of this morning, or c5 muscle car of this lunch or gnx muscle car of yesterday or v8 vega muscle car of last week all can be had in the teens, so you eat mac and cheese for a couple of months

Thanks mike-
actually beleive it or not, i have a 69 Chevelle 2-Door hard top sitting in my garage right now- Fresh (and built to the hilt) 454, TH400, 12 Bolt 3.73 posi, disk brakes- All the body work is done, its in black sealer now, but it needs final blocking and paint, and a full interior re-do...

Its my neighbors car and he joked with me that he would sell it to me for $9k (the cost of the 68 SS elky i was looking at) But not sure if he was serious or not- I'm contemplating it as well. Just was hoping to have something to play with for the summer time- if i get his i will pretty much have to send it off for paint immediately and who knows when i would get it back.

So many choices!
