Hey guys,

I am trying to remove the drip rail molding on my 66. I have read many many posts on here about removing it w/ bottle openers and screwdrivers wrapped in electrical tape. I have tried both ways and seem to be bending the piece as I'm trying to get it off. My question is do you pry from the top of the molding or underneath? The molding started to bend a little no matter how I tried! HELP!

Thanks!

Do it from underneath. Bottle opener only. Start at the one end...front or rear...and peel it up about 1/4 to 1/2 inch at a time. There ain't no miracles. If it bends using the above instructions...you aren't following the above instructions... smile.gif

I tried the bottle opener and all sorts of other methods. I ended up with a 1 inch square 6 inch long piece of hardwood and used it as a punch, if you will. Tap out from the underneath lip and work it along as you go. Worked for me......
