Okay, so I puuled the carpet out of my car and I found the dredded rust right below the brake/clutch pedals... There were a few small holes that showed up after probing with a screw-driver (5 or 6 holes just big enough to put the screw-driver through)...

The rest of the pan looks solid...

Is there a way I can temporarily treat this to stop or slow the rust? I plan on repainting/ body-off resto in a few years and I just want to not have my feet fall through next year...

The underside looked great, with no signs of rust, but I did have to replace the portion under the windshield due to severe rust, and I remember water dripping onto my feet prior to that... I fixed that rust about 7-8 years ago, and don't recall the rust in the floor...

So, I would like to treat the rust with something, and maybe seal the holes (to protect my new carpet...

POR 15, or other brands/products, rust-converters...

Sorry to make it so long...

Por15 patch to patch up the holes, then paint regular Por15 over everything to seal it up. This will easily last a few years.

I did the same thing not long ago. I also blasted the inside of the car. Those little holes, pin holes, became big holes. I cut the left floor pan out and right now in the process of putting the new one in. In my opinion, replace the pan, or maybe just a section of the pan. You have to remember that rust never stops growing!!!! I am, by no means, an expert. I have learned quite a bunch of helpful things on this site. Thats my recommendation.

Temp fix? POR and then fiberglass patch over the holes. Real fix? Cut that crap out in a year or two and weld in a floor pan.
