Hey Guy's,
I am polishing my new paint for the first time. I am using McGuiars No.7 Mirror Glaze. I am using a Ryobi Random orbital buffer. I applied the glaze with a terry cloth application pad followed by using a polishing pad. My question is... Is the polish supposed to dry? It seems like no matter how much I wipe there is still a film of glaze on the car.

Somebody, let me know if I am doing this right.

Regards,

you shouldnt use an orbital buffer go to a bodyshop supply place they will show you the correct buffer and the correct compound to use. or just pay a body shop to do it . that sounds like your best bet if you never buff a car . good luck

Storm... He is polishing not buffing... Steve... I don't use wax at all. I looked at your 71 in the showroom pics and it looks like a car that will not be driven much in bad weather. Mirror Glaze must have silicone in it and it never dries completely enough to stop streaking.
I only use quick detailer (like Final Inspection from Meguiar's) on my cars. I've found that it's all the paint needs to stay nice. You can also use it to get the streaks off that the wax left... Bill
